Group activities and independant play are great ways to engage with your child as they learn to read, socialize, and interact with the library. Every month the VMPL offers a collection of events designed specifically with literacy in mind.

Toddler Time: Mondays at 5:30pm and Tuesdays at 10:00am (January 9 - March 28, 2023)
Providing children ages 2-5 with opportunities to learn pre-literacy skills, affording parents the opportunities to watch their children learn and help to foster their child's life long appreciation for the library. Toddler Time includes Storytime and a Craft each week.
Please Note: Monday and Tuesday programs are the same. Parental Guidance and Participation is required.
Laugh & Learn: Tuesdays at 5:30pm (January 9 - March 28, 2023)
1st - 3rd Grade
Prepare to "laugh and learn" as a family at these regular events. Enjoy themed programs focused on literature, fine arts, STEM, and more. Must be present to participate. Please Note: Parental Guidance and Participation is Encouraged.
Tween Scene: Fridays 1:45pm - 4:00pm (January 13 - March 3, 2023)
4th - 6th Grade
Hang out at the library after school on Fridays. Each week will feature a different craft, activity, or event. Find "Tween Scene" events on the calendar.
Please Note: Registration is required if parent/guardian will not be with the child throughout the program. Children are welcome to bring their own beverage. Popcorn or similar snack (no peanuts) will be served.
